In this chapter we discuss "Implicit Methods" of assessing what is stored in memory. As an example, click here for an article that uses a "lexical decision task" to show that after watching gay porn, the more homophobic the men were, the quicker they were to recognize anger and fear words.  What this means is that if we made 2 groups of men (one group is homophobic and one group is not) then we could tell which group was which based on their reaction times.
